Cash Credit Bank Of America Credit Card – (Update 07/20/21: There is also a student card version of this card. The rest of the details are the same, including the sign-up bonus, only they may approve students more easily. It could be a good first first card.)
Bank of America has launched a new Unlimited Cash Rewards consumer card that has no annual fee and earns you unlimited 1.5% cash back on all purchases. Preferred Rewards Platinum Honors members will earn 2.62% on all purchases.
Cash Credit Bank Of America Credit Card
This card is similar to the old Travel Rewards card, like cash back instead of points. This is a great new card because it takes the hassle out of having to redeem rewards for travel purchases and creates a 2.62% direct cash back card with no annual fee.
The 10 Best Balance Transfer Credit Cards Of January 2023
Many people carry the Premium Rewards card, with its $95 annual fee, specifically to avoid the hassle of having to redeem travel. Other Premium Rewards benefits include an additional $100 airline credit, 2x (3.5x) on travel and dining purchases and no foreign transaction fees. But if you’re not interested in these benefits, you can simply get the unlimited cash rewards and no longer need the Premium Rewards card.
Hopefully they will allow product changes from the Travel Rewards and Premium Rewards cards to the new Unlimited Cash Rewards card. You won’t get a signup bonus when you switch products, but some will prefer that you open a new account.
There is also a student version of the Unlimited Cash Rewards Card with the same details as the regular card, perhaps a little easier for students to get approved for when using this student link. There’s also a secured version of this card that’s almost the same, but doesn’t have the $200 sign-up bonus. The bank plans to launch 1.5% / 2.62% Business Unlimited Cash Rewards in October. Bank of America is taking customer loyalty to the next level with two credit cards that reward you for your spending habits and offer unique benefits you don’t often see anywhere else. Both the Bank of America® Travel Rewards Credit Card and the Bank of America® Custom Cash Rewards Credit Card come with better rewards rates than you might expect from cards with no annual fee.
While both cards can be valuable for a variety of lifestyles, they’re especially beneficial for those who also have Bank of America checking or savings accounts. Bank of America Preferred Rewards customers (those who meet certain account balance requirements) can earn a rewards boost of up to 75% with each card.
The Travel Rewards Card earns 3 points on travel purchases booked through the Bank of America Travel Center (such as flights, hotels and rental cars) and 1.5 points per dollar on every purchase .

The Custom Cash Rewards Card earns 3% cash back in the category of your choice (gas, online shopping, dining, travel, pharmacy, home improvement/furniture), 2% cash back on purchases from supermarkets and wholesale clubs and 1% cash back. other purchases However, keep in mind that your rewards in the 3% and 2% categories are limited to $2,500 in combined spending each quarter, and then drop to 1%.
Cash back or points – that’s the question. It really depends on whether you’d rather earn points that you can convert to statement credits or use for travel, or if you’d rather earn cash.
Bank of America Travel Rewards offers a sign-up bonus of 25,000 points if you spend $1,000 in the first 90 days. Bank of America Travel points are valued at 1 cent per point, so 25,000 points would equal $250. It’s not a sign-up bonus, considering this card doesn’t charge an annual fee.
For an introductory cash back card, the Bank of America Personalized Cash is pretty generous with a $200 welcome bonus if you spend $1,000 in the first 90 days. It’s not the best among other cash back credit cards, but it’s not the worst. Plus, for many cardholders, it’s pretty easy to spend $1,000 in 90 days.
Bank Of America Launches Business Unlimited Cash Rewards Card
You can redeem your points through the Bank of America Travel Center, as cash rewards (at 0.6 cents per point) and as gift cards (variable point value). You can also retroactively redeem your points on travel, booked through a third-party website, or restaurant purchases you’ve made in the past 12 months.
The Bank of America Personalized Cash Rewards Card also offers variable redemption options. Unlike some cash back cards that only let you redeem your rewards for a statement credit, Bank of America lets you deposit your cash into another account, redeem for credit or opt for a check by mail.
Both of these Bank of America cards can earn you a lot more rewards if you qualify for the Bank of America Preferred Rewards program. Basically, if you have a large deposit in a Bank of America checking or savings account or a Merrill investment account, you’ll increase your rewards rate by 25%, 50% or 75% depending on what level you qualify.
For the Bank of America Travel Rewards card, if you qualify for the lowest level, Gold, your points per $1 increase to 1,875. For Bank of America Personalized Cash, you’ll earn 1.875% if you qualify for Gold.
How To Apply For A Bank Of America Cash Rewards Credit Card
Bank of America Travel Rewards charges no annual fee, earns a flat rate of points on all purchases, and allows you to spend points on travel through its travel portal. What more could you ask for from a superior travel credit card?
The card defines “travel” broadly, meaning you can redeem your points on flights, hotels, vacation packages and more. Because you’re not limited by a number of travel partners, your rewards have the same value regardless of the airline you fly or the hotel you stay at.
We recommend using this card for most (or even all) of your travel expenses to earn points quickly, as 1.5X points are comparatively lower than other travel cards. Another incentive to use the Travel Rewards card as your primary travel card is the fact that you’ll earn 3 points per dollar when you book through the Bank of America Travel Center. And of course, be sure to earn the 25,000 bonus points to maximize the value of the card.
Sometimes it’s hard to predict which category you’ll spend the most in, but the Bank of America Custom Cash Rewards Card offers the flexibility to maximize your future spending with up to six interchangeable 3% cash back categories. It also has the great advantage of allowing you to change categories once a month.
Best Bank Of America Preferred Rewards Cards (nov. 2023)
The card is most attractive to cardholders who want to earn bonus cash on online purchases or gas. 2% cash back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs is nothing to scoff at, making it ideal for families who spend a lot on gas and groceries. However, remember that awards in the 3% and 2% categories are limited to $2,500 per quarter (then you earn 1%).
When it comes down to it, the Bank of America Cash Back Card is the best card for all seasons. It has eight bonus categories that earn 3% or 2% on key daily spend, and you can change six of them monthly. You can use it as your main card for all your purchases, or just for gas or grocery purchases, and it will still give you great value.
The Bank of America Travel Rewards Card is best suited as an introductory travel card in addition to the other major cards. Recommended for occasional travelers, but not for serious globetrotters.
