Google Cloud Platform Free Credit – This post includes an overview of a free Google Cloud Platform account. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) offers new subscribers a free 90-day trial account with $300 credit.
In this free trial account, Google offers various services, which come with some limitations to get more information and training about Google Cloud Services.

The Google Cloud Free Trial is designed to give users experience with Google Cloud services for 90 days or until they spend $300 in credit.

Step 4: After login you will be redirected to GCP Free Trial page. Select your country from the drop-down list, accept the Terms of Service, and click Continue.
Step 6: Next it will ask you to verify your credit/debit card and enter the security code. Then click Continue.
Step 7: In this step, it will direct you to the payment gateway to verify your payment information. And for your credit card verification, Google will charge a minimum price by country. Here I have provided India, so Google charged 1 INR.
Step 8: Once the verification is complete, you will be redirected to the Google Cloud Platform (Console) page where you can start creating projects and practice directly.

GCP offers a free trial credit of $300 for one year when you run it for the first time. If your total billing is less than the free trial credit, you will not be charged for one year. For our system this is less than a year of free credit. If you want to continue with your website, remember to upgrade your account before your free trial ends (you must enable billing for your account). Otherwise your VMs will be deleted when your trial ends.
Your GCP home page should look like this with a hamburger icon in the top left (if you’re using it for the first time, you won’t see a map).
Cloud Computing Services
Click on that hamburger icon and scroll down to the Compute section. Click Compute Engine, and then select VM Instances. Remember these steps because we need to return to this list page.
On the Events page, you’ll see a button to create an event. In my case, there is already an event in the list.
A new page will open to configure the settings to create a new compute instance. During configuration, it will also show the monthly cost estimate on the right side. If you want to reduce costs, you can go to lower configuration settings.
The first half can be left as it is. In the second half we need to convert the boot disk to Ubuntu 18 LTS and also tick the checkboxes to allow HTTP and HTTPS traffic.

Without enabling Http and Https traffic, we cannot access our website from the outside world.
That done, click on create and wait for some time to start creating. You will see a green icon next to the event. Once that happens, remember the IP address written there for your new instance and click the hamburger icon again. Now scroll down to the Networking section and then click on External IP Address under VPC Network.
The Networks page contains information about the networks associated with each of your events, and you’ll also see one for your newly created event. What we need to do here is to convert the temporary value to a static one.
Why? Because ephemeral means the ip changes every time the VM reboots. Which we don’t want. A static IP means it won’t change unless you delete the instance or change the settings again.
Setup Google Custom Search
You need to click on the drop down arrow and then it will ask you to enter name and description. Do this and it will become permanent.
Maybe come back and see the value or IP under External Address somewhere. We will need it in the next steps.
